We Demand Our Rights to Education
The Yahya Peace Foundation (YPF) is very concerned about the current educational opportunities for the Somali children. According to the UN, about 70% of 14 Somalis million are younger than 25. Of which about 70% of children do not have access to education. This is a mainly because of access-related problems: 95% of the schools are expensive, private institutions. This phenomenon contributes to inequality among Somalis up from a young age.
The youth has the future. But is that also true for Somalia? Somalia has been in engaged in a civil-war for more than 30 years. Therefore a whole generation has not been able to develop sufficiently. Only one in five children go
